I'm having exactly the same problem, efnet.demon.co.uk seems to be the only server it occurs with, and the problem is very consistent like mctriple says. I'll connect to demon, then my router will completely die on me and require a power cycle... I'm guessing it's a weird bug in my routers firmware....

There are official Slackware packages now. Before it was available, it was simple enough to grab the openssh-3.6.1p2 built script, substitute the source tarball and $VERSION variable inside the script. When this was run it would pop out a working package. Also, Sendmail was updated to 8.12.10 (secur...

I dont think ME is too bad, its been reasonably stable on this 500mhz/192mb box. 2000/XP (which i'd much rather use) hate my motherboard and the USB WLAN adapter I use, it detects it as a damn "memory device" and refuses to work no matter what I try. So, it looks like I'm using ME here until I (a) r...

The fact opers on efnet don't have as much "power" as on other networks using different IRCd's is hardly because of hybrid. Those limitations are there for a good reason, because the administration and most users choose for it to be that way. I'm sure any feature regarding "power" could be added to ...

Trying to use irc to port 80 from work often means passing through a http proxy/cache/filter, irc data gets consigned to oblivion through these. In my case, the company firewall allows outgoing telnet through something called a "raptor proxy" (why i dont know), SSH works through this back home thoug...

I'd have to say no here, I think we have to draw a line. I would think the tools available for combating drones are usually sufficient, a keyed or secret drone channel can be joined by an operator, juped and any client inside killed. If it made it possible to control the drones, I would expect the d...

I fail to see the point of changing the version response, If someone has put the time and effort into writing something, I dont think It's much to ask for them to be credited in a lousy ctcp response.

If anyone wants to, they can probably find some nick to fool at least a few people. It would end up a cat and mouse game if every one of these was attempted to be juped.

I'll try that sometime, whenever I have to access my Windows boxes I tend to use VNC, I bet remote desktop works better since if VNC is running as user x and y logs on, it stops working. Remote desktop has more features iirc...

We'd better keep this forum to constructive threads about IRC clients before this thread gets out of hand. I was somewhat curious as to the results of the poll, mIRC has quite clearly won :) But there has been some interesting discussion. My quick $0.02: - I think mIRC is a well written, user friend...

Dont ask me why I wrote this, the idea just came into my head :D original sotry from, http://www.storyarts.org/library/aesops/stories/boy.html There once was a /luser who was bored as he sat in EFnet channels watching the flame wars, splits and so on. To amuse himself he took a great breath and sang...
