Re: Cannot connect from Turkey

That seems to indicate that you are still spamming, which indicates that, if you are not controlling it, then your computer is infected with a virus or trojan. Recommend you check with the following method: ********* PLEASE FOLLOW EACH STEP CAREFULLY!!!!!!!! If you skip a step ********* IT WILL NOT ...

Re: Cannot connect from Turkey

That is just two servers, making a total of three you indicate you have tried. There are 59 more. Not all reject Turkey.

Re: Cannot connect from Turkey

Not all servers accept connections from all IP ranges. Similarly, not all IP ranges are rejected by all servers. Try different servers. While you are correct that not everybody from Turkey is a spammer, our experience has been that Turkish ISP's completely ignore all reports of spammers, and since T...

Re: Admin Changes?

EFNet does not have Chanserv, Nickserv, or Memoserv; therefore you cannot register anything or leave messages/notes for anybody on EFNet. The only "administrators" on EFnet are server administrators. Most either actually own the server outright or are employed by the actual owners. Should one violat...

Re: Kick Ban for bogus reason (And I am getting tired of it.)

This is what makes EFnet EFnet. Any channel op can kick/ban anybody he or she wants for any reason or for no reason whatsoever. The only ones that channel op has to answer to are the other ops in that channel. Not all channels with "helpful" sounding names are there to help. Other than that, the use...

In many years, I have only seen two things from Turkey: spammers/spambots and trolls looking for sex with children/kiddy kidney stones. Not a single legitimately chatting human, which doesn't mean they don't exist -- I just have never encountered one. However, it would take CIDR bans to ban them fro...

#irchelp is another useful general help channel, usually staffed by opers and other experienced ops. /list sometimes works too.

Not going to get into what, much less how, but you are mistaken. I know of no "oper bot" checking for spam. Most, if not all, MOTD's give server policies forbidding spam. Therefore, those servers are well within their rights to check for spam to whatever extent they deem appropriate, so long as it d...

mIRC 6.2

I'm surprised at those mIRC users who refuse to update their mIRC. Version 6.2 has been available since 28 July. It should be noted that, by default, the $decode exploit is disabled only in versions 6.17 and 6.2. Obviously, it can be enabled, but most people don't need/use it, and even those who do,...

If it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, from the same laptop with the same configuration of the IRC program, then it is probably the hotel blocking port 113 and others. I don't know about the other programs, but mIRC requires port 113 for various purposes. It also requires that the configuratio...

Two points: 1) If you're a channel op, you can ask for your channel not to be visited by them, but don't then complain about spamming in your channel. 2) An oper can also cut the number and frequency of visitations, although that would also cut the chances of catching your spammers. We're not really...
