Re: help to connect

Re: How can I find the time when I connected?

If your client's logging was turned on at the time, yes; if not, no. On the other hand, if your IT staff chooses to bestir themselves, they may have a log.

Major SSL Bug

This is not just for mIRC users, but for all who use SSL. Update your OpenSSL. mIRC supplies an easy-to-install update at http://download.mirc.com/8/openssl-1.0.1g-setup.exe. While if installed to the mIRC default folder, it will apply only to mIRC, but will apply all Windows programs if installed t...

With problems like this, it is best to type /admin [server} or /motd [server] and follow instructions for notifying them directly.

Re: EFnet is using the wrong blacklist

You appear to be partially correct. Querying the expert prodced the following response: "CBL doesn't like being used for non-mail services. If you do use it, you're supposed to link to your own info page in the message given to the user. Of course most people ignore that, and use the dnsbl anyways. ...

Re: Too many host connections (global)

Each server has its own rules about numbers of connections. This could be anything from 1 to many, and is handled automatically once set by the administrator. If you want an exemption, you should email the server admin (email addy usually either in the MOTD or by typing /admin) and explain who you a...

Re: unable to connect to any efnet channel

This is the correct place to ask that question, but will need additional information to track this down:
1: Which program are you using to connect to EFnet?
2: What error messages are you receiving when you try to connect?
