Bug - Ban - Mibbit.com

Postby g0dfather » Thu Nov 26, 2009 7:33 pm

Banned: Temporary D-line 14400 min. - (r1/1217) xdcc catcher not allowed (2009/11/18 08.03)

This is what happens when loging into irc on efnet through mibbit.com. Its sets up using the efnet servers but acts like webchat. All my members from all over the world are geting baned with above ban. None of the users are using a xdcc client. Hell have of them have no clue what that is. I was told to submit a bug report was never given a place to submit it.

I looked into it and it seems it is banned on many servers and channels due to spamming. Chances are your users are not even aware that they are infected with some type of spam script (or then again, maybe they are aware and just like to spam ;p)

either way... I would suggest checking all of your networked machines to make sure they are not infected with some IRC trojan that spams channels. Once you are certian its fixed, contact the admin of the servers you are banned from and inform them of the steps you took to remedy the problem. hope that helps.

yea, i suppose i should have read a little more into it before asking some douche in #efnet. guess thats what you get for going for a quick answer, instead of looking for yourself.

as for an idiot? I suppose if an IQ sore of 114 considers me an idiot.... well then i guess i am.

depending who you are comparing to, 114 can be pretty low.
