efnet.demon.co.uk and hub.uk delinks
The sponsor of efnet.demon.co.uk and hub.uk has decided to pull the plug after contributing with servers to EFnet since 1993. Demon has been a stable and reliable asset for EFnet and both the server and it`s staff will be missed by all of us. Thanks to demon and the various people that has helped keeping it alive since 1993. The server will be delinked early in August.

Thank you for the service you have provided this network for so long. "demon" is a house-hold name on EFnet and I know many people, including myself, will be sad to see it go.

Wow, I only just noticed.
That's such a shame, no more UK EFnet servers.
Although it seems that they've not updated their site details:
http://www.demon.net/helpdesk/technical ... ction.html
I wonder why they decided to stop sponsoring the EFnet server, while the IRCnet server remains active.
I imagine it's due to US IP transit, where as IRCnet is UK/EU only.
It was only a matter of time before this went after the Cable & Wireless takeover in 2008.
How times are changing...
