Opless chan and ircopers

Postby 4429 » Fri Dec 29, 2006 10:56 am

Hi, I have a small question.. I have a chan with about 30 ppl thats been opless for months now. Question is; Could an ircoper join a chan during a netsplit (reg users can't) and get chanop if he's the only one there , and would he keep the chanop when servers re-merge again? (or would he be auto deoped because older timestamp from other servers has no ops..)

no, an ircop can not hack ops on serversplit

if you had gotten help within a couple weeks of going opless, your channel could have been fixed by chanfix, most likely. but if y ou've been opless for months, then you probably have no scores left

So basiclly the only solution is to get all the ppl to part and then cycle?

Typically there isn't much opers can do in such cases, but drop me (Beige) or some other operator a message on IRC and we'll take a look at it.
